Fall Creek Dam Hydroelectric Project

Fall Creek Dam is located on Fall Creek, a tributary of the Middle Fork Willamette River just northeast of the community of Lowell in Lane County, Oregon.  The dam was completed in 1966 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and currently provides flood control, irrigation, recreation opportunities and improved downstream navigation.

In cooperation with the Emerald People’s Utility District, Symbiotics began state and federal licensing for a run-of-river hydroelectric project on Fall Creek Dam in 2007. With an installed capacity of 10 MW from three turbine/generator units, the Fall Creek project will produce an average of 21.2 GWh annually. A License Application for the project was filed with the FERC on February 28, 2011.
