La Virgen Hydroelectric Project
The 64-MW La Virgen Hydroelectric Project is located approximately 200 kilometers east of Lima, in the district of San Ramón, province of Chanchamayo, department of Junín, Peru. The La Virgen project will use flows from the Tarma and Quebrada Guayabal rivers in a low-impact run-of-river design. A Definitive Electricity Generation Concession for the La Virgen Hydroelectric Project has been obtained by virtue of Supreme Resolution No. 060-2005-EM.
Riverbank Power’s partner in the project is Peruana De Energia S.A.A., an experienced hydroelectric developer in Peru.
