The Lock and Dam 8 Hydroelectric Project (FERC No. 13010) is located at the existing Lock and Dam 8 on the Mississippi River near the town of Genoa, Wisconsin. As the river serves as the border between Minnesota and Wisconsin, the project will be located in both Houston County, Minnesota and Vernon County, Wisconsin. The proposed 10-MW project would operate in run-of-river mode using flows from the Mississippi River.
Riverbank filed a Pre-Application Document for the project with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on June 10, 2011. After receiving substantial feedback from the public during the public meeting and in formal comments, Riverbank altered the design of project features so that the project would not impact the Clements Fishing Barge. The updated project description was included in the Draft License Application filed on August 31, 2011. After incorporating comments received from natural resource agencies, the Final License Application was filed on December 23, 2011.
